Blackburn Women's Basketball falls to Webster

Blackburn Women's Basketball falls to Webster University by the score of 93 to 41 on Tuesday, March 16th in Carlinville, Illinois. The Beavers were plagued by turnovers and foul trouble. Webster caused Blackburn into 40 turnovers in the game. There were a total of 49 fouls between both teams. Blackburn had 25 fouls compared to the Gorloks 24 fouls. 




Mariah Hopson started the game with a three pointer to start the scoring. Aryanna Harris causes a turnover on the next possession and scores a lay-up to give the Beavers a five to zero lead. That lead was the only lead Blackburn had. After falling five to zero Webster went on a 34 to seven run. 

 

The Gorloks extended their lead in the score by 14 leading into halftime. The halftime score was 54 to 18. Webster was led by Addison Beussink with 12 points and five rebounds. Blackburn was led by Harris who had five points and two assists.



In the second half Wester added to their lead, outscoring Blackburn 39 to 23. The Gorloks were led by Amaya Baker as she scored all seven of her points in the second half. She also grabbed one rebound and had two steals. Blackburn was led by Taliyah Davis as she scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in the second half.
