Women's Basketball set to play Webster in SLIAC Tournament

Blackburn Women's Basketball will face Webster University in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. This is the first time Blackburn has participated in the tournament since the 2007-08 season. 

 

Blackburn has won the SLIAC tournament six times which is the most in conference history.  The next closest school is Maryville who is no longer a part of the conference. The Beavers will get another chance to win their seventh title in school history. 

 

Blackburn will travel to Webster University on Wednesday, April 7th for a 7:00 tip-off. Webster is the number seed finishing nine and one (8-1 SLIAC) in the regular season. The Gorloks were the regular season champs. The Beavers are the number eight seed finishing one and nine in the regular season. If Blackburn wins they will play Thursday April 9th. Blackburn will play the highest seed or the lowest numbered seed. 

 

Blackburn and Webster met once during the shortened season. The Beavers hosted the Gorloks in which Webster won 93 to 41.
