Blackburn Women's Basketball Falls

CARLINVILLE, IL- Blackburn College Women's Basketball falls in their third St.Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Matchup against the Westminster Blue Jays 80-53.

Freshman Kailynn Kruep led the Beavers scoring 14 points, three rebounds, and also led the assist category with senior Elizabeth Morris with two. Freshman Becca Benoit led the team in the rebound category grabbing nine, she also had 10 points overall. 

The Beavers started the first quarter strong, winning the quarter 15-14. Blackburn College got started off with two layups from Becca Benoit and a jump shot from Kenadee Frey. Frey finished the quarter off by putting up two good free throws. In the second quarter, the Blue Jays pulled away and never looked back, they ended the half 37-26. Westminster continued to pull through the second half of the game, the Blue Jays had their biggest lead in the fourth quarter by 37 points. They continued on to win the game 80-53

The Beavers go 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the SLIAC Conference. They look to regroup for their next SLIAC game on Wednesday, December 13th against the Eureka Red Devils at 5:30 PM in Eureka, IL.
