CARLINVILLE, IL- Blackburn College Women's Basketball defeats Alverno College in a non-conference matchup tonight and take home the win 70-52. 

The Beavers were led by Kailynn Kruep putting up 13 points and five rebounds. Freshman Becca Benoit and sophomore Caidy Tuetken give BC another twelve points each. Benoit also grabbed nine rebounds for Blackburn. 

The Beavers started off strong in the first quarter with a jumper by Ella Wilson putting BC up 2-0, Blackburn gets up 14-11 with a good three-pointer from Kenadee Frey. Two good jump shots from Caidy Tuetken and Becca Benoit put the Beavers up 25-20 going into the second half. Blackburn comes out just as ready as they did in the first half, winning the third quarter 19-11 Kailyn Kruep puts up the first point of the half putting the Beavers up by 7. Their lead only got higher from there ending the quarter 44-31. The fourth quarter the Beavers worked on extending their lead. A good jumper by Ashanti Jones puts BC up 62-37, the Beavers went on to win the game 70-52. 

The Beavers move to 3-8 overall, the team will continue their season with an Exhibition game against Truman State on December 30th in Kirksville, Missouri.
