Wilson's Career-High Not Enough

CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Women's Basketball team faced Fontbonne University in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup, but despite strong second half, the Beavers fell to the Griffins 78-61.

The Beavers were led by freshman Ella Wilson, who had a career-high 14 points, followed by junior Miley Kwiatkowski and freshman Kailynn Kruep who both had 12 points for the Beavers. Wilson and sophomore Caidy Tuetken tallied five rebounds a piece. Freshman Kenadee Frey dished out 4 assists. 

The Beavers started out the first quarter a little slow, shortly into the first they managed to get back into the game with 2 jump shots from Wilson. Kruep made a three-pointer to get the Beavers a 34-20 trail in the second, a Miley Kwiatkowski three pointer put BC down 43-26 going into halftime. Blackburn came out of the locker room ready to fight for a win, and were able to get the deficit down to 69-60 with f:28 left in the fourth quarter, but were unable to get any closer. 

The Beavers move to 3-13 overall and 0-9 in the SLIAC. They return to action Saturday to visit Greenville University.
