Women's Basketball Drops SLIAC Tilt

St.Louis, MO –  Blackburn College Women's Basketball team visited Fontbonne University in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday night but fell to the Griffins, 80-47.

The Beavers would battle hard in the first quarter. After going down 11-2 early, the Beavers would rally back and come within two at the end of the quarter. The Beavers would fight hard in the second quarter but the Griffins pulled away 34-19 to end the half. This deficit would prove to be too much.

The Beavers were led by sophomore Zoe Mitchell with nine points and three rebounds. Followed by junior Ashanti Jones and freshman Kenadee Frey with six points each. Freshman Kailynn Kruep would lead the team in rebounding with seven, with sophomore Danielle Vogel following it up with six rebounds. 

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, February 17th at 1:00 pm at home against Greenville University for more SLIAC action. The game will also serve as Senior Day for the team's two seniors, Aryanna Harris and Elizabeth Morris
