Two Reach Double Figures In Season Opener

The Beavers were led by senior Miley Kwiatkowski with 18 points, hitting six three pointers during the game. Sophomore Kailynn Kruep added 17 points, with four threes. Sophomore Ella Wilson was credited with eight points and tallied a career high 14 rebounds.
Kwiatkowski got it going for the Beavers to start the game knocking down a three in the first ten seconds. The Blue Angels eventually took the lead around the 8-minute mark. The Beavers offense stalled late in the first quarter with the Blue Angles going up 17-11 at the end of the first.
The offensive struggle continued into the second quarter as Mount Mary pulled ahead and took a 39-17 lead.. However, Kwiatkowski and Kruep led the team in third to outscore the Blue Angels 19-14. The Beavers would match Mount Mary point for point in the fourth quarter and were not able to make up the deficit, losing 70-53.
Blackburn plays Alverno College on Saturday, November 9th where they will look to pick up an early win in the season.
