Owls Pull Away Early, Top Beavers in SLIAC Play

Sophomore India Harris led the Beavers with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and shot 85% from the line. Sophomore Gracie Jent was the next highest scorer with 9 points and Junior Caidy Tuetken added 8 points.
Jent is the first to score for the game with a three pointer. Back again with another three to put the Beavers in the lead early. Sophomore Kenadee Frey puts up a layup to have a 6 point lead early in the first quarter. The Owls answer and go on their own run to bring it within 1 point. The Owls then take the lead out to 10 points making it 18-8. Tuetken brought it within 8 with two made free throws. India Harris, Jent, and Junior Amya Harris with made buckets bring it within 1. The Beavers pace themselves to stay with the Owls this first quarter. The competitive first quarter ends 22-17, the Beavers trail. MUW runs away with the lead going into the half 38-20.
Out of the half, India Harris was the key contributor as she had 9 points to help the Beavers. The Owls asserted dominance as they outscored the Beavers in the second half by 20 points which led to a victory, 81-43.
The Beavers are on the road for their second matchup of the week vs the Scots of Lyon, on Saturday, in Arkansas.
