Blackburn College has hired Allen Dehority as the next Head Women's Basketball Coach.  Dehority returns to his alma mater after a stint as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Finlandia University.  A 2008 graduate of Blackburn College, returns to Carlinville with a history of improving basketball programs.  While coaching the men's program at Finlandia, Dehority's team ended a 49-game losing streak and developing a program that ended up in the top 20 in a handful of statistical categories.  Prior to becoming the men's coach, Dehority served as the assistant women's coach at Finlandia where the team set a school record for victories in a season.

From 2012-16, Dehority served as the head coach at Notre Dame of Maryland University where his team ended a 45-game losing streak and in his final season there the team had the best record in nearly a decade.  From 2009-2012, Dehority served as an assistant coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where he helped the team earn its fourth twenty-win season and ninth appearance in the NCAA tournament.
