Coach Petty joins the coaching staff as a Blackburn Alum and the current Director of Human Resources at Blackburn College. Marshall’s most recent coaching experience was as the Club Wrestling Coach at Saginaw Valley State University. 

Prior to that, Marshall spent several years training in Greco-Roman, Folkstyle, and back hold wrestling in Wales and Scotland. This training included time spent drilling with members of the Scottish National Team. 

While in College, Marshall wrestled for two years on Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Club Wrestling Team.  Marshall wrestled in high school at 130lbs out of Carterville, Illinois. 

Outside of wrestling, Marshall has extensive experience in Judo. In the past, he won the Prairie State Games and competed in the Junior Olympics. Marshall is also an avid runner and plays rugby in his spare time.
