Blackburn Women's Soccer Celebrates Lone Senior

Blackburn Women's Soccer was defeated by Eureka College two to zero on Wednesday in Carlinville, Illinois.


The Beavers recognized lone senior Aliese Greenwood as she played her last home game for Blackburn.Greenwood played in 48 games starting in 44 of them. She graduated from Hillsboro High School before committing to Blackburn.Greenwood is majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Biology. She was escorted by her parents Scott and Sherry Greenwood.


The Red Devils controlled most of the game outshooting the Beavers 24-4. In the first half Eureka outshot Blackburn 12-3. Then again in the second half 12-1.

 

The Red Devils scored both of their goals in the first half. Madison Shines scored in the 13th minute to give Eureka an early lead. Lindsey Johnston would score on a penalty kick in the 29th minute. 


In the second half there were not a lot of actions. No goals were scored and there were a few less shots taken. 


UP NEXT: Blackburn will travel to Greenville on Saturday, April 24th. This will be the last game before the SLIAC Tournament.
