The Blackburn College Women's Soccer Team kicked off their season today against Rockford University. After a hard fought battle the Beavers would fall short 3-1. 

Rockford came out hot in the beginning of the first half scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes. However the Beavers would try to mount a comeback when Libby Adams scored a goal on a free kick in the 26th minute. The Beavers stayed aggressive, however, in the 34th minute Rockford would score again extending their lead to two. 

The Beavers would try to battle back in the second half having multiple shots on goal but they were unable to convert. Sofia Faro would hold Rockford scoreless in the second half with four saves. 

 The team is back in action against Faith Baptist Bible on Monday, September 4. The contest is home at 2:00 p.m.
