Blackburn Dominates Against Mount Mary University

On Friday afternoon, the Blackburn College Women's Soccer Team picked up their third win of the season with a dominant performance against Mount Mary University. The Beavers came out aggressive having a shot on goal within the first two minutes. Libby Adams would capitalize in the seventh minute with an assist from Izzy Harrington, putting The Beavers up 1-0. Kylie Duncan would come off the bench and with an assist from Libby Adams, she would score her first collegiate goal and put The Beavers up 2-0. The Beavers were aggressive offensively in the first half having 16 shots on goal. Defensively, Blackburn only allowed six shots on goal in the first half, with goalkeeper Sofia Faro having four saves. 

 In the second half, The Beavers continued to dominate, having 16 more shots on goal. Libby Adams wasted no time, with an assist from Izzy Erickson she would score in the 46th minute, putting The Beavers up 3-0. Mount Mary University struggled to get anything going and only put up 2 shots on goal in the second half. Izzy Harrington had 7 shots and in the 60th, with an assist from Sophia King, was able to connect for her first collegiate goal. The Beavers led 4-0, however, they weren't done offensively. Libby Adams would score again after an assist from teammate Janelle Naumann, completing a hat trick and extending The Beavers' lead 5-0. The Beavers were dominant on both sides of the field, which led to the do 5-0 win against The Blue Angels.

 The Beavers next match will be on Sunday, September 17th as they travel to play against Defiance College. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
