MILWAUKEE, WI -- Junior Janelle Naumann scored her first career goal in Sunday's nonconference women's soccer match at Mount Mary with just two minutes remaining to give the Blackburn College Women's Soccer team a 1-1 tie at Mount Mary University.
Mount Mary scored in the first half but the Beavers were aggressive attacking the goal as they put a season best nine shots on a goal with 10 shots on the day.
Late in the second half, a foul gave Blackburn a free kick right outside the box. Naumann took the kick which resulted in a foul inside the box by Mount Mary to give her a penalty kick. Naumann took full advantage of the opportunity by drilling the ball past the Blue Angels' goalkeeper.
The BC goalkeeper, freshman Mailee Shoen, recorded six saves on the day.
Blackburn returns to action Saturday and opens St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play by hosting Westminster College.
