CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Women's Soccer team honored their lone senior, Alexis Drury, after the squad hosted St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Eureka College Wednesday afternoon.
Drury appeared in 59 matches with 58 starts. She recorded her first career shot this season during the team's tie at Mount Mary University. A key defender throughout her career, she has always brought a positive attitude during times of adversity and will be sorely missed. Off the field, Alexis has been named to the SLIAC All-Academic Team and to the Dean's list. Last year, she was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and received the Meewen Prize in Art.
In the game, the Beavers took three shots, led by junior Janelle Naumann with two.
Unfortunately, the Red Devils captured a 1-0 win when they scored off a free kick that got up into the wind and ended up going over the BC goalkeepers reach into the top left corner of the goal.
With the conclusion of the game, the team's season comes to an end.
