Track and Field Competes at SLIAC Outdoor Championships

CARLINVILLE, IL – The Blackburn College Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams competed in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and came away with two school records. 

Sam Burrows led the men's side by defeating his own school record in the 1500 meter run, posting a new best time of 4:28.27. His time placed him ninth in the race. Christian Miller also competed in the 1500 and finished in 5:30.62.

Freshman Collyn Oberkfell took 12th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.05. 

Senior Molly Koskey ran on the women's side and set a new record in the 800 meter run with a new mark of 2:57.38. She also was just over a second shy of beating her own record in the 1500 as she took ninth by finishing in 5:46.64. 

The men's team also saw Marco Nova finish the 400 meter dash, 1:09.11, and Kobe Patten run the 100 meter dash in 12.79. Julio Palma ran the 200 meter dash in 26.64.

With the conclusion of the Championships, the men's and women's track and field season comes to an end.
