The Blackburn College volleyball team glided to their first win of the season on Thursday night. They defeatedHarris Stowe University by winning three sets to one with scores of 25-10, 25-17, 22-25, and 25-16.· Blackburn was in control the entire evening winning each set by at least eight.

In the first set, Blackburn quickly jumped to a 9-1 lead powered by Sophomore Samantha Downs and Allie Matt deliveringsix straight service points·each·as Blackburn dominated the first set 25-10.

The second set featured the same result with Blackburn winning 25-17.· In the third set however, a back and forth game eventually led to Harris-Stowe pulling away to a 24-14 lead.· The Beavers rallied with an eight point run led by Junior Jessica McClelland, but it was not enough as they fell 25-22.

Blackburn ended any hope for Harris-Stowe in the fourth set, crusing to an easy 25-16 victory.· Blackburn climbs to 1-8 overall and·will look to go on a winning streak this Saturday, as they play host to Benedictine-Springfield at 10 a.m. and Augustana at 2 p.m.
