Cara Pence, Bailey Bennett Earn SLIAC Recognition

ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Blackburn College Volleyball had two student-athletes earn All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognition as junior Cara Pence was named Third Team All-SLIAC and freshman Bailey Bennett was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team. 

Pence earned third team honors after leading the Beavers offensive attack with a total of 313 regular season kills to set a new school record for kills in a season. She also finshed the season ranked seventh in the SLIAC in kills with 2.72 kills per set while her season total placed her fifth. She also ranked seventh with 2.95 points per set. 

A Defensive specialist, Bennett appeared in eight matches for the Beavers. She tallied 15 digs and three aces on the year. She was also a constant supporter of her teammates throughout the season. 

Blackburn finished the 2023 season with a seven game improvement over the 2022 season and saw the Beavers reach the SLIAC Conference Tournament.
