Blackburn Women's Volleyball loses to the Owls in a Thriller

The Blackburn College Volleyball Team faced off against Mississippi University for Women today.  The Beavers just fell short of a victory in a hard-fought match against the Owls. This was a thriller of a match, coming down to the fifth set. The Beavers would fall short, the final results of the five sets were (25,22),(19,25),(18,25),(25,17), and (20,18). 

 

The Beavers were led by Cara Pence who had 17 kills, followed by Jessica Muckensturm who had 13 kills. Madison Watret led the team with an impressive 23 digs, while Holly Heuerman had 19 digs as well. Freshman setter, Tessa Funderburk led the team with 40 assists. 

 

The Blackburn College Women's Volleyball team plays on October 3rd against Principia in their fifth conference game of the season. The Beavers are hoping to pick up their first conference win.
