Blackburn falls short against Westminster

The Blackburn College Volleyball Team faced off against Westminster College on Tuesday night in Carlinville. The Beavers battled hard but were unable to pick up a victory against Westminster. Westminster would win the first set 25-16, but the Beavers were not discouraged and came back winning the second set 29-27. The Beavers would go point for point with Westminster but fell short in both sets, 25-22 and 25-20. 

The Beavers were led by Cara Pence, Jessica Muckensturm, and Emily Eitzenhefer. Cara Pence had 15 kills, Jessica Muckensturm with 10, and Emily Eitzenhefer with 8. Tessa Funderburk and Kenadee Frey led in assists for the Beavers. Tessa Funderburk had 21 and Kenadee Frey had 17. Tam Nguyen and Emilie King led in digs with 24 and 14. 

 The Blackburn Women’s Volleyball Team plays in a double-header at Eureka on Friday, October 27th. They face off against Fontbonne at 5:00 p.m. and then Eureka at 7:00 p.m. as they try and pick up two conference wins.
