Women's Volleyball fall to Lyon and Fontbonne in Doubleheader

The Blackburn Women's Volleyball team played against Lyon and Fontbonne University on Saturday, October 7. In the first game, The Beavers battled hard, going point for point with Lyon but would unfortunately fall to Lyon University in three sets (23-25, 24-26, 21-25). The Beavers were led by Sophmore Zoe Mitchell, who had 13 kills, and Freshman Kenadee Frey would lead the assist category with 22. 

 

In their second afternoon match, The Beavers went down to the Fontbonne Griffins in four sets with the scores (25-22, 17-25, 21-25, 19-25). Blackburn was led that second game by Senior Emily Eitzenhefer with 10 kills (a.222 hitting %) and 3 blocks. Beavers Freshman Kanadree Frey also led this game in assists with 18.  



After falling to Lyon College and Fontbonne University, The Beavers are 6-14. The Beavers travel to Spalding on Thursday, October 12, hoping to bounce back and get their 2nd SLIAC conference win of the season.
