COLUMBUS, MS -- Junior Kenadee Frey set a new school record for assists early in Thursday's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals but the Blackburn College Volleyball team fell to Mississippi University for Women 3-0.
Frey sets a new record previously held by Kendall Burleyson, who played from 2017-2019, and with the conclusion of tonight's game now has 1,720 for her career. Her total of 694 assists last season ranks her fifth for season assists. She previously set a new career aces record and is also third all-time for digs in a career.
In the match, sophomore Rean Ward finished with a team-best seven kills. Freshman Rylea Black added five.
Defensively, freshman Elexus Frey tallied eight digs with K. Frey chipping in with six and senior Payton Moeglin had five. Senior Zoe Mitchell finished with a solo block and two block assists.
The Owls won the first set 25-17 and followed with a 25-15 second set victory before winning the third set 25-19.
Blackburn's season comes to an end after reaching the SLIAC Tournament for the sixth straight season while tying a school record for wins in a season.
