On Senior Day 2013, the Blackburn College Men's Soccer Team was defeated by the Tigers of Iowa Wesleyan, 3-1.

Alex Miller(St. Louis, Mo.) was the lone senior on the roster for today's game. Miller, who is unable to play due to an injury suffered earlier in the season, was put into the starting lineup. He opened the kickoff by tapping the ball forward and then walked off the field to a loud round of applause.

Shortly after, the Tigers strung two goals together fifteen minutes in. Austin Menke deflected a cross in and then Bo Vitale rocketed a shot from way out that just escaped the diving backwards goalkeeper Shane Rogers(Granite City, Ill.).

Iowa Wesleyan tacked on another one two minutes after halftime on Austin Menke's second of the game. It was a similar shot to that of Vitale's where it was blasted over the head of Rogers. The Beavers tried to mount a comeback late with a Chris O'Connor(Pleasant Plains, Ill.) goal in the 85th minute.

Blackburn controlled most of the play today. They outshot the Tigers 25-14 with seven coming from freshman Nate Kinnison(Perryville, Mo.). The Beavers had chances all game with ten corner kicks to the Tigers' zero. Blackburn even beat Iowa Wesleyan in offsides calls and were on the attack all game but they just couldn't find the back of the net.

The Beavers finished up their home schedule and will now play their remaining two conference games on the road(@Eureka on 10/30 & @Fontbonne on 11/2). Blackburn drops to 1-6 in SLIAC play and 6-9-1 overall.
